Tribune 24/7 (formerly Express 24/7) is an English language television news channel headquartered in Karachi, Pakistan. The channel is owned by the Lakson Group, which also includes its sister channel Express-News and the Daily Express newspaper, and The Express Tribune.
Express 24/7 was the second English language television station in Pakistan, Dawn News the first. After Dawn News switched to Urdu broadcasting in February 2010, Express 24/7 remained the only English-language 24-hour news channel in Pakistan until it closed in November 2011.
Express 24/7 CEO Sultan Lakhani cited the dire economic climate and the insufficient number of advertisements as the main reasons for the closure. With the 24/7 shutdown of Express, the era of local English news channels in Pakistan ends.
Subsequently, BBC News and CNN returned as the sole TV source for English news in Pakistan. A state-owned English news channel PTV World was started in 2013 and was the only English news channel in Pakistan until the relaunch of Express 24/7 as a tribune 24/7 this year.
