Peppa Pig is a British preschool animated television series by Astley Baker Davies. The show follows Peppa, an anthropomorphic piglet, and her family and peers, who are portrayed as other animals. The show first aired on May 31, 2004. The seventh season began airing on March 5, 2021. Peppa Pig has been broadcast in over 180 countries.
Peppa herself has been voiced by several different artists over the years. She voiced Lily Snowden-Fine in season one and Cecily Bloom in season two, then Harley Bird, who was five when she started, took the role for thirteen years until she resigned after season six. She was replaced by Amelie Bea Smith. John Sparkes, Morwenna Banks, Richard Ridings, Oliver May and Alice May also voice.
On December 31, 2019, Hasbro acquired Entertainment One, including the Peppa Pig franchise, for US$3.8 billion. On March 16, 2021, it was announced that the series has been renewed through 2027, with Karrot Entertainment (producers of Sarah & Duck) replacing the original creators and studio (Astley Baker Davies).
Set in a world where almost all the characters are animals, Peppa Pig revolves around the main character, her family and friends. Each episode is approximately five minutes long. Each of your friends is a different type of animal. Peppa's friends are her age and Peppa's younger brother George's friends are her age. Episodes include daily activities such as joining a playgroup, going for a swim, visits with grandparents, cousins and friends, going to the playground or riding a bike.
