Prima TV is a Romanian commercial television station, best known for its Cronica Cârcotasilor show and various reality shows.
Prima TV started broadcasting at 19:00 in December 1997 as one of the first commercial TV channels in Romania. By that time the frequency of AMEROM CANAL 38 or TeleAmerica was known. Prima TV has been owned and operated by the Prima Broadcasting Group since early 2014.
Prima TV reaches 87% of the urban population and is one of the four most successful television networks in the country. Prima TV is available on both cable and satellite platforms. It was available in analogue terrestrial form on Channel 38 until June 2015 when analogue terrestrial transmission ceased. It was available on DVB-T on channel 54 from 2011, but was later delayed to 59. It ended its existence on the digital terrestrial platform in early 2015.
