BR television or Bavarian television is the third television program of the Bavarian radio, which is a complete program for the Bavarian region in the 24-hour operation. The Bavarian television started on September 22, 1964 under the name of a work program.
It is the third oldest program in Germany, and BR has been broadcasting television programs for the ARD joint program since 1954, initially as a Bavarian national magazine and from November 8, 1954 under the title Die Münchner Abendschau.

On April 11, 2016, Bavaria TV had a changed logo, a new weather design and receive a new program calendar. A major change in the program was the conquest of the ARD Tagesschau at 8:00 p.m. The Rundschau news program also received a new design and new slots.
