Comedy Dynamics is an independent, multi-platform production and distribution company based in Burbank, California, specializing in stand-up comedy. Its content is available on Seeso, HBO, Showtime, Epix, Hulu, Roku, iOS, Google Play, Netflix, iTunes, Amazon and Spotify. Comedy Dynamics released vinyl albums of audio-only versions of comedy specials in 2016 and 2017, some of which were nominated for a Grammy Award.
New Wave Entertainment, LLC created New Wave Dynamics in 2008 as an audio-only label for stand-up comedy specials and albums. Brian Volk-Weiss founded and managed the company and rebranded as Comedy Dynamics in 2014 after collecting a large stand-up custom library. In 2016, New Wave Entertainment evolved into The Nacelle, a private company independent of Comedy Dynamics. Company, LLC does business as Comedy Dynamics. Volk-Weiss is CEO.
In interviews and press releases, Comedy Dynamics claimed to be the largest independent comedy production company. A Forbes writer reported that Comedy Dynamics produced more than 140 comedy shows in July 2017. Comedy Dynamics' comedy programs include Kevin Hart in History, which features Kevin Hart's Guide to Black History, and the screenplay comedy There ... Johnny in Animal Planet featuring Animal Nation. ! In Hulu, Join or Die with Craig Ferguson on History, Wild'N Tour on MTV2 and Coming to the Stage on Hulu. On the Comedy Dynamics website, Kevin Hart states that he has worked with a wide variety of comedians such as Aziz Ansari, Jim Gaffigan, Bill Burr, Ali Wong and Katt Williams.
