The parliamentary television of the Federal Assembly is the internal television channel of the Federal Assembly. Following the decision of the Federal Assembly in 1991, parliamentary television was set up and broadcast as a parliamentary documentation channel in 1995. All general discussions, public meetings and committee hearings are broadcast live, unresolved and in full.
The parliamentary television can be bought over the Internet and over a digital cable network in Berlin and Cologne with an internet-based television, which offers "Freenet TV connection". The discussions on the parliamentary television in the interim commission for parliamentary reforms, in the election examination committee, in immunity - and procedural rules as well as in the council of the German Bundestag last until 1985.
During its session on June 19, 1991 the Bundestag decided to set up its own television. The program began on April 26, 1995 in Bonn on a home channel with the company's first plenary session. With the transition from Bonn to Berlin, parliamentary television was also relocated and has been broadcasting from Berlin since 1999.
The technical facilities of the studio are located in the Jakob-Kaiser-Haus in the immediate vicinity of the Reichstag building.
