PTV World is an international news channel broadcasting 24 hours in Pakistani English. It is a government-owned channel as part of the Pakistan Television Corporation. The service is also geared towards the overseas market and broadcasts via satellite and online platforms similar to BBC World News, Arirang TV, TRT World, Deutsche Welle, France. 24, CGTN, VOA, NHK World-Japan, RT.
The Islamabad-based service started as PTV-2 in 1992 but was later renamed PTV World in 1998. It is intended for a worldwide market and is usually broadcast by FTA television providers worldwide. It is a live broadcast world news provider that can be watched via its website, YouTube and various mobile devices and digital media players. The channels' stated mission is to "provide a global public service and a shared editorial stance".
