The 2M television channel broadcasts in Arabic, French and Berber languages. In addition to broadcasting with digital signals throughout Morocco, it also broadcasts from the digital satellites Globecast, Nilesat and Arabsat. The 2M television channel was rebranded by 2M Monde in 2007 and is now available worldwide.
2M was established as the second national television channel in Morocco with the aim of increasing competition in audiovisual broadcasting and promoting diversity. It officially started its programs on March 4, 1989. At that time, it was broadcasting on the cable TV channel without encryption.
In the seventh year of its broadcasting life, SOREAD, the main shareholder of the channel, ONA group, withdrew from the management of the television channel due to financial reasons. The Moroccan state took over the 2M channel with a turnout of 68%.
