Africanews is a multilingual news service headquartered in Pointe Noire, Republic of the Congo. The news channel is a subsidiary of Euronews in Lyon, France, and on April 20, 2016, it began broadcasting on the Internet, as well as on television and via satellite. The newsroom employs 30 journalists and about 55 technical staff.
Currently, the programs are broadcast in both English and French - subtitles on the screen are bilingual. The channel plans to expand to reach more of the continent's population and plans to release content in Swahili, Arabic, and Portuguese in the near future.
