The Afghanistan national cricket team is the team that plays Afghanistan's international cricket matches. Afghanistan has played cricket since the mid-19th century. There are three main formats used in international cricket competitions. According to the Twenty20 format, both teams will go on to twenty overs and the teams' roles will change after the first 20 overs have been completed. Each of these two-period parts is called an innings. In a one-day game format, both teams play 50 overs each. In a Test format game lasting five days, both teams are entitled to two innings and there is no overlimit for those innings.
