Excélsior TV is a Mexican cable news broadcaster owned by Grupo Imagen. The name comes from the Imagen newspaper Excélsior and also uses the resources of the Grupo Imagen radio stations and the national network Imagen Televisión.
Excélsior TV was launched on September 2, 2013. In addition to cable transmission, it was placed on subchannel 27.2 of XHTRES-TDT, Imagen's current television broadcaster in Mexico City.
When Imagen closed the list in October 2015, Excélsior TV switched from 27.2 to 27.1. At the same time as the move was the general relaunch of the station and the change from cadet news personalities to Excélsior TV. In October 2017, Imagen began broadcasting Excélsior TV as sub-channel 3.4 on 38 Imagen Televisión channels.
In late January 2020, rumors circulated that Excélsior TV would be closed and XHTRES would be leased to El Heraldo de México newspaper to start a television channel. (A year ago, Imagen had sold two radio stations to the newspaper to create a radio network.) On February 1, 2020, that deal was approved and Heraldo TV went on the air on February 10.
