Extra 3 is a weekly political satire show on German television founded in 1976. Produced by the public television station Norddeutscher Rundfunk, it airs on NDR Fernsehen and 3sat. Once a month, the show is promoted on ARD Das Erste's first national program.
Invented by Dieter Kronzucker in 1976, the satire show was originally hosted by him along with Peter Merseburger and Wolf von Lojewski. Over the years, the show has seen many celebrities hosting the magazine, starting with Lea Rosh, who joined the group in 1977.
In 2000, a special edition was co-organized by leading politicians Cem Özdemir (Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen), Thomas Goppel (CSU), Guido Westerwelle (FDP) and Gregor Gysi (Die Linke).
