99TV is an Indian satellite TV news network that covers Telugu news around the clock. 99TV was founded in 2014 and is currently owned by New Waves Media, managed by Tota Chandrasekhar.
99TV was founded on 20 July 2014 in Hyderabad by director Tammareddi Bharadwaja. The launch event was celebrated by popular figures such as Dasari Narayana Rao, D. Ramanaidu, later the Speaker of the EP Legislative Assembly, Codela Sivaprasad Rao, Ramakrishna and prominent journalists from various media houses.
Later on, 99TV was completely taken over by the Communist Party of India (KPI), which later suffered losses and received no viewers.
On July 11, 2018, this channel was taken over by New Waves Digital media and started broadcasting from New Waves Media's headquarters in Kondapur, Hyderabad, which was once the head office of the channel.
Broadcasting political and current events with serious news, the channel also features programs such as business, talk shows, movies and sports. It has a network in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. On September 29, 2019, the 17th Santosham Film Awards were broadcast live.
