We are a Religious Order recognized and confirmed by the Catholic Church since 1528. As friars, we are fruits of the Franciscan charism, founded on the profound desire to live the Gospel Way of Life and the ideals set forth by our Seraphic Father and Founder, Saint Francis. of Assisi. We live in communities, recognizing each other as "brothers" and sharing things in common.

We are honored and humbled that the current Pope has chosen to take the name of our Father, Francis of Assisi, thus showing us the need to serve the poor, work for peace and non-violence and care for creation, which is ours. common home.

Our main work is to bear witness to the Gospel with our way of life, anchored in Franciscan simplicity. We seek to serve the people of God depending on their needs in their particular location. As a result, we are committed to the pastoral care of people in their spiritual and social needs. We work at all levels of the educational sector (from basic to tertiary), in the health, agriculture and social welfare sectors, among other areas.

Being a missionary congregation, the Capuchins are found on all continents and in most countries of the world. Having made the first presence in the country in 1974, we have a presence in 14 counties namely: West Pokot, Homa Bay, Kisumu, Kericho, Nakuru, Kiambu, Nyeri, Machakos, Garissa, Tana River, Lamu, Kilifi, Makueni and Nairobi. (St. Jude's Chapel, Westlands, St. Padre Pio Friary, Lang'ata and St. Bridget's Centre, Eastleigh). We are about 62 brothers in perpetual vows and others in the early stages of their formation programs.
