Al-Mayadin (Arabic: الميادين; English: The Plazas) is a pan-Arab satellite TV channel launched on June 11, 2012 in Beirut, Lebanon. His programming is mostly news. He has reporters in most Arab countries.
In the pan-Arab television news market, it competes with Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya, as well as Sky News Arabia and BBC Arabic Television. At its founding in 2012, many of Al Mayadeen's senior staff were previously correspondents and editors for Al Jazeera. Al-Mayadin is considered a Hezbollah supporter and pro-Syrian government.
The channel is part of the Al Mayadeen satellite media network, which includes a production company, radio station, website, advertising campaign and other media projects. In addition to its headquarters in Beirut, Al Mayadeen has an extensive news network and three regional offices: one in Tunisia, one in Cairo with three reporters and a large studio, and the third in Tehran.
