It is the first 24-hour satellite Telugu devotional channel dedicated to broadcasting Hindu devotional programs and live poojas broadcasts performed at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams from Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, India.

SVBC was launched on 7 July 2008 by the then President of India Pratibha Patil. Its main content is Hindu devotional programs. It publishes the daily rituals performed in Tirumala and Tirupathi. It also publishes an annual festival called Lord Sri Venkateshwara Brahmotsavam. TTD has decided to expand the channel to other South Indian languages. Previously, the channel was used to broadcast in Kannada and Tamil.
